WATCH: Did Yeshua Celebrate Passover or Die just Before Passover?

How could Jesus/Yeshua eat the Passover with disciples (as we read in the first three Gospels) and die just before Passover (as John says)? I would like to present an interesting theory. If it is correct, then Yeshua died on Thursday afternoon, just before Passover and it means that the events that took place after his arrest, lasted for at least 24 hours, as opposed to a few hours. This makes sense, as it gives more time for Yeshua to be taken from the high priest to Pilate and for Pilate to waver. To be clear, it is just a theory. I am not dogmatic.

Someone already asked:

Hi Ron, I enjoy your site, thank you.  I was wondering after listening to your talk on Jesus being crucified after eating the Passover with His disciples if you can explain to me please howto reconcile the two verses below, both of which indicate Jesus would be 3 days and 3 nights in the grave.   Is this an Israeli timing thing, or am I missing something here? It seems the longest I can get is about 1 and a half days and 2 nights that Jesus was actually in the grave.

Jon_1:17  Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Mat_12:40  For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Thank you, and God bless your continuing ministry.

My response:

Some have said that in Hebrew thought, any part of a day is a day, so Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday morning are three days. However, based on the idea that He died just before Passover, on Thursday at 3pm, with the Passover Lambs, He would have been in the grave from Thursday afternoon until Sunday morning, almost 72 hours and certainly three days and nights.
