The leader of the boycott Israel movement said if Israel develops a vaccine against COVID-19, it would be okay to make an exception.

“If Israel finds a cure for cancer, for example, or any other virus, then there is no problem in cooperating with Israel to save millions of lives,” said Omar Barghouti, founder of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

He further allowed that “if you use medical equipment from Israel – it’s not a problem.”

Eh, thanks Omar…appreciate your permission.

Barghouti, speaking on Facebook live, used the opportunity to bash Israel for “continuing to exploit Palestinian workers…without the simplest protection against the virus, … looting of land, arrests, oppression and killing” during the pandemic.

However, even the United Nations has repeatedly commended Israel and the Palestinian Authority for “unprecedented cooperation on efforts aimed at containing the epidemic.” This includes Israeli training Palestinian medical teams and donating medical equipment to the Palestinians.

Barghouti worried that the outbreak of the coronavirus could become a “honeymoon” for Israel away from the global scrutiny that organizations such as his like to maintain. He is right to be concerned—Israel is full of innovators and I can guarantee that our inventors are coming with new ways of dealing with this new reality. Israel is the start-up nation.

“Cooperating with Israel against the virus – to begin with, we didn’t consider it normalization.”

“The BDS announced normalization criteria long ago,” Barghouti said. “Up until now, we have not been in a situation where we need Israel urgently and no one else can save us but Israel. If that will happen, saving lives is more important than anything else.”

So, in layman’s terms: let’s kill the Israelis, unless, in same strange turn of events, they are able to save our lives—in which case, we will not kill them…until later.
