WATCH Lutheran Church in America Stands against Israel

The ELCA, not to be confused with the star of Frozen—that would be Elsa—has taken a brazen stand against Israel. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America has voted to divest from Israel and encourage the United States to pull all support until Israel leaves what they call “Palestinian Lands”. I take just over five minutes here to explain that there is no such thing as “Palestinian lands”. M apologies to Methodists everywhere for my mistake at the end 🙂

It is interesting, but I was told by a former leader of an ELCA church, that while they were voting to marry and ordain homosexuals, a tornado blew that tore off the steeple of the church!

Let’s at least tell the truth on this. The Ottoman empire was divided up and Britain was given the area known as Palestine under the British Mandate so it was called Palestine all the way up to 1948 when the State of Israel was declared and to this day, the people call themselves Palestinians (including Christians) and history shows Palestine way back to the Greek and Roman period.. There are even coins, ancient maps, and numerous Jewish encyclopedias online and other Jewish websites that says it was called “Palestine.” So to hear a Christian not tell the truth when even a Jewish Judaizer tell the truth is evil and I am sure Jesus delighted to hear his Christians have to lie to justify your murders. Why don’t you guys tell the American peoplec that we give over $4 billion of FREE American taxpayer’s monies? Romans 11 has nothing to do with Britain and Zionists conspiring together to create Israel and murdering everyone to accomplish this mission and then Zionists lying about history. Rev 9:21: And they repented not of their murders,…and thefts, etc. I assume you not keep this post up to tell the truth or discuss.

This is biased and bigoted humbug. Your facts are twsted backwards entirely, and hardly worth countering, as your prejudice certainly has no ears. Elhanan

Liz, it’s not just Romans ch 11. It’s Amos ch 9, Ezekiel ch 36-39, Zech ch 12-14, etc. Numerous Scripture talks about God putting the Jews back in their land, and they will NEVER be uprooted ever again (specifically Amos ch 9). It is God’s will and prophecy that the Jews return to their ancient homeland and STAY THERE. End times events revolve around judgment for the world and also around Israel specifically, and for that to happen, they need to become a nation again after having been dispersed all over the world for almost 2000 years. It wasn’t the Jews conspiring. It was God’s will. The fact that you think the Jews went about murdering and plundering until they got what they wanted shows, quite frankly, the bias and lies you’ve believed. If you get your news from slanted news sources such as CNN, then you’ll believe the lies about the Jews “occupying” the land, which seems to be the case.

What you say concerning “Palestine” is true though. Christians, Jews, Arabs, etc all called themselves Palestinians. It’s also true what you say about Palestinian money, maps, and old artifacts. However you need to note one thing. The people living in that land called themselves Palestinians in the sense that the term denoted they LIVED IN THAT AREA. Just as Americans call themselves Americans because they are a citizen of the country and/or live there. The term American however does not refer to a racial group. Today, the term Palestinian is used to refer to the group of arabs being “oppressed” and displaced by the “occupying” Jews. That’s where the problem lies. People very wrongly tie together the ARABS known as Palestinians with the idea of the land being theirs, when beforehand “Palestine” referred to anyone living there, including Jews.

If you knew where the term “Palestine” even came from, you’d know who truly belongs in that land. The term originally came from Hadrian Caesar. He tired of the Jews’ clamour for independence and drove them out of Israel, while renaming the land “Palestine” to spite them (derivative of “Philistia”, ancient enemies of the Hebrews). Jerusalem was renamed “Capitalina” (generic name “Capital City”). The land was, is, and should continue to be called Israel.

I’m assuming you profess to be a Christian since you seem to know a bit of Scripture (although it is clear not everyone professing Christ is truly born-again, but I give you the benefit of the doubt). You cannot say you love Christ and then turn around and go against God’s will. Ron brings up Romans ch 11 because it very clearly outlines the fact that one day ALL ISRAEL WILL BE SAVED. I’m not saying Israel is perfect and does no wrong. I’m not telling you to blindly support their politics or military decisions. What I am saying is, stop vilifying them. By fighting Israel, you are also fighting God’s prophecies that specifically say He is the One who put the Jews back in their land, and that they will never be uprooted from their land again.

I’m also going to say upfront that we are zionists because God Himself is a zionist. A zionist is a person who supports the right of the Jews to be back in their land. God’s word and sovereign will has shown it is God who brought the Jews back to their land. Again, Amos ch 9 makes that extremely clear. Being a zionist does not mean supporting Israel’s every move, as I said above. It just means you support Bible prophecy and God’s will putting the Jews back in Israel. No more, no less. Going by that definition of a zionist, every single God-fearing, God-seeking, Bible-believing born-again child of God should be a zionist. To think otherwise either indicates a lack of understanding of Scripture, or worse a haughty spirit underlying a deceiving, lost soul masquerading as a Christian.

    This surprises people?
The Lutheran church originated in Germany and its founder Martin Luther preached and wrote a great deal of extreme anti-Semitic / anti Jewish literature.

The Lutheran Church laid a lot of the foundation of antisemitism in German culture that enabled Hitler to build on.

In part He (Martin Luther) and they the Lutheran church who have promoted these views are responsible for the holocaust.

It sounds like self exonerating projection, that is the Lutheran church are projecting on Israel the forest of beams in their own eyes.

“So you shall keep His statutes and His commandments which I am giving you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may live long on the land which the LORD your God is giving you for all time.” (Deuteronomy 4:40)
